Watching/playing sports, working out, graphic design, dance, and traveling.
I’m one of the co-owners of Breaking Boundaries Apparel, an apparel line focused on highlighting women in sports across the world.
What made me start playing football:
After my college basketball career ended, I always felt there was a void. I had played team sports and competed since I was 10 years old…so it’s all I knew. I tried distance running and triathlons, but something was still missing. In 2011, I was introduced to flag football and played on two co-ed teams. A year later I found women’s tackle football, and never looked back! Football gave me exactly what I was missing! As a female athlete, it’s the closest thing you will find to playing college sports.
“Play like you’re in first place. Train like you’re in second.”
What inspires me to play:
The physicality of the sport and being able to play and compete in a male dominated sport. Most people don’t believe me when I tell them I play football. I also get inspired when I watch 7 year old Vella (our biggest fan) play on a football team with all boys.
Most memorable football moment or achievement:
Playing for the Swedish National Team at the 2013 Women’s World Championships. Meeting and playing against women from different countries was amazing! It’s definitely an experience I will never forget!
